PDO Threads

Polydioxanone thread lifts (PDO Threads) are designed to address a range of skin concerns - from improving the appearance of sagging skin, to improving skin elasticity, texture, fine lines and volume.

PDO thread lifts use a small needle to carefully insert fine, absorbable threads into the skin to help contour and rejuvenate. These threads cause micro-injuries, which remain implanted in the skin to promote intense collagen stimulation. The threads act as a scaffold for your body’s own natural collagen production. After six months, the threads dissolve into the body and leave new collagen in their place.

Benefits of PDO Threads include:

• Skin tightening and filling

• Improving skin thickness and quality

• Outlining lips for natural enhancement

• Rejuvenating skin

• Lifting jowls/cheeks/brows & marionette lines

PDO threads can be used to treat a multitude of areas. Each area will require a different amount of threads as a baseline, with specific problem areas requiring more threads. Treatments are quick, relatively pain-free and have minimal down-time.

Most clients see results in eight to 12 weeks, which last up to two years. We usually review clients six months after their treatment to determine results/next steps.

If you are considering these treatments, please schedule a consultation where we can discuss your treatment options & pricing.

  • After Care

Some clients may experience redness, swelling, bruising, pinprick marks or puckering at the suture site after treatment. Use a cold compress to help reduce swelling. Most side effects usually subside after two weeks.

The sutures may be sore for up to a week, but pain relief medication can help.

    • Clients are advised to sleep on their back for the first five nights post-treatment, avoid make-up for the first week, and avoid facials, massages and extreme pressure for two weeks.

    • Extreme exercise and alcohol should also be avoided immediately after treatment.

    • Keeping skin moisturised and well-hydrated will also help the healing process.
