After Care
Peels/Medifacials After Care
Avoid the following immediately after, and for up to 7 days, post treatment:

Excessively hot showers, baths, spas or saunas that induce sweat

Further clinical treatments (including anti-wrinkle injections, microdermabrasion, facials, laser, intense pulsed light, chemical peels, muscle relaxant injections and dermal fillers)

Exfoliating and highly fragranced products
-
Avoid Vitamin A, AHAs and BHA products
-
Shaving and waxing the area
- Sun exposure: use strict sun protection strategies & chemical sunscreen
- You may begin your regular skin care regimen 3-4 days after your treatment - you should wait a week before you begin any Retinol products
Fat Dissolving After Care
-
Immediately after treatment, ice or a cold compress can be applied to the area treated to reduce pain and swelling. Continue as required for the first 48 hours
-
Do not take anti-inflammatories such as aspirin, or Vitamin E, for 24 hours after treatment. Panadol can be taken for any pain or discomfort
-
Massage the area that was treated for the next 3-5 days to enhance even spreading of PTC. It is also recommended to have radiofrequency (RF) therapy, to assist with skin tightening in the treated area

Commence exercise and normal activities after 24 hours
-
Make sure you report any increasing pain, redness or signs of infection
- Drink lots of water for the first 24 hours after treatment
Laser Skin Before & After Care
Before your treatment:
-
Do not wear make-up on the day of treatment
-
No sun-tanning or self-tanners four weeks prior to treatment (this Includes spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds, sun exposure, etc)

Some medications or supplements may increase the risk of bruising. Chat with our team for advice
-
Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment (waxing, depilatories, etc.)

Make sure you notify our clinic with any changes to your health history or medications since your last appointment
-
History of herpes or cold sores may require an anti-viral prescription prior to treatment
After your treatment:
-
Avoid sun exposure and use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen to prevent further sun damage
-
Bruising, redness and swelling can occur and will resolve with time
-
A “bug bite look” can occur and usually resolves in 1-2 days
-
Avoid heat (hot tubs, saunas) for 1-2 days
-
Avoid skin irritants (examples below) for a few days post-treatment:
-
Including products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents, etc.
-
Notify the clinic of any concerns (blistering, excessive redness/swelling)
-
Leg vein treatments only:
-
Compression stockings (20-30 mm/hg) are optional
-
Avoid high-impact activity for 3-5 days post-treatment
-
Hemosiderin staining (brown staining) may occur after a treatment and usually resolves with time (can take 1-2 years) but, on a rare occasion, it may be permanent
-
Strict avoidance of sun exposure may decrease risk of permanent hemosiderin staining
-
Large leg veins may take many months to resolve and should not be re-treated before then
-
Treated pigment will turn darker (brown to black) within 24-48 hours
-
Do not pick at treated areas
-
Treated pigment will exfoliate off the face in approximately 1 week
-
Treated pigment will exfoliate off the body in approximately 2-3 weeks
-
You may begin your regular skin care regimen 3-4 days after your treatment - you should wait a week before you begin any Retinol products
IPL Hair Removal After Care

Healing time varies between clients.
-
Redness and swelling around the hair follicles may appear after treatment. These symptoms can last for around 5 to 7 days and may be accompanied by itching.
IPL Photo Rejuvenation After Care
-
Darkening of the skin pigment, purplish/black tints, as well as crusting of the pigmented area, may occur as part of normal post-treatment healing. Crusting will flake off, and while redness and swelling may also appear, these symptoms usually resolve in 3 to 7 days.

For acne treatments, clients may experience a deepening in colour of the treated area, tenderness, and intense redness and swelling. This may last for 5 to 10 days.

Significant swelling and redness may occur for up to 24 – 48 hours post-treatment. It is not uncommon for patients to experience swelling in the under-eye area for the first few days post-treatment. This swelling will subside.

You may also experience redness and slight warmth emanating from the treatment area for the first 24 hours post-treatment. This is a normal part of your skin’s post-treatment healing response. However, excessive or severe pain is unusual; if this occurs, immediately notify the clinic.

If post-treatment discomfort is mild, you may immediately return to your regular activities.

Avoid hot baths, saunas and pools for the first two days following treatment, as bacteria found in these environments could cause an infection.
-
Avoid applying ice or cooling compresses to the treated area, as the heat emanating from the skin is the body’s natural healing response.
-
Moisturiser may be applied 24 hours after each treatment. Moisturiser should then be applied regularly throughout the course of your treatment program.

After 24 hours, most patients are able to apply make-up to hide the pinkness of the skin. It is important that you remove all make-up at night. Do not sleep with make-up on the treated area.

Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Sun exposure, tanning beds, and artificial sunless tanning lotions should be avoided in the treated areas.

Clients should prioritise long-term skincare to optimise their rejuvenated post-treatment appearance. We offer a program for long-term facial skin maintenance.

Contact the clinic immediately if you experience increased facial swelling, or redness spreading beyond the treated area.
Skin Resurfacing After Care
-
Healing time varies between clients.
-
Swelling of wrinkles occurs immediately. Significant swelling and redness may occur, particularly 24 - 48 hours post-treatment.
-
To minimise swelling, keep your head elevated.
-
It is not uncommon for clients to experience under-eye swelling for the first 24-48 hours, but this will subside.
-
There will be redness and slight heat emanating from the treated area for the first 24 hours.
-
It is unusual to experience severe/excessive pain – please notify us if this occurs.
-
Tiny scabs will usually form 24-72 hours post-treatment, and may remain for several days. The scabs should not be touched or scratched – allow them to shed naturally.

You may return to regular activities immediately.

Avoid hot baths, saunas, spas, and pools for the first two days following treatment, as the bacteria common to these sites could cause an infection.

Avoid applying ice or cooling compresses.

Talk to your therapist about moisturisers or supporting creams.

After 24 hours, most resurfacing clients are ready for make-up to hide the pinkness of the skin. If applied, it is important that you remove all make-up at night. Do not sleep with make-up on the treated area.

Always use an SPF50 sunscreen, particularly 24 - 48 hours after the skin has fully healed. Sun exposure, tanning beds, and artificial sunless tanning lotions are not allowed in the treated areas.

All clients should use long-term skincare, designed to optimise the youthful, rejuvenated appearance. We recommend the Toskani Mesotherapy Cocktail treatment for at-home care post 24 - 72 hours.
